What is a sedentary lifestyle?
A sedentary lifestyle is a lifestyle with a lot of sitting, whilst not compensating enough with movement. Around the world, this is happening more and more often. Office jobs and students are most affected by this as they sit behind a desk for a big part of the day.
Advantages of sitting less
While sitting while working is sometimes easier and more comfortable, moving more has many advantages. It has been proven that moving more during the day reduces stress, leads to more energy and happiness, less risk for high blood pressure, an increased focus during work or studying and there are even more advantages (1,2)!
